This is a full-time, permanent position located at the Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge in Turrell, AR.

U.S. Citizenship Required Background Investigation Required
Facilities and Equipment Management - Plans and schedules operations and maintenance projects.
Plans and carries out work assignments involving technical biological and habitat restoration/management projects.
Collects and enters data in various data bases.
Interacts with other Federal and State agencies and interest groups in the development of short and long-range plan.
Conduct or assist with the Refuge's public use programs.

Basic Entry Requirements for the GS-0485 series. You must meet A or B below to qualify for the position.
Completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree with major in zoology, wildlife management, or an appropriate field of biology that included at least 9 semester hours (or 14 quarter hours) in zoology; 6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) in such wildlife courses as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, or wildlife management; 3 semester hours in conservation biology; and 3 semester hours (or 14 quarter hours) in botany; OR
Completed courses in an accredited college/ university equivalent to a major in zoology, wildlife management, or appropriate field of biology that included at least 9 semester hours(or 14 quarter hrs) in zoology; 6 semester hours(or 9 quarter hrs) in such wildlife courses as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, or wildlife management; 3 semester hours in conservation biology; and 3 semester hours(or 14 quarter hrs) in botany PLUS appropriate experience and/or additional education comparable to the completion of a 4-year course of study.
_Specialized Experience Requirements:_ In addition to meeting one of the basic entry requirements listed above, you must have the appropriate specialized experience as described below.
GS-5 level:
Completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree with major in zoology, wildlife management, or an appropriate field of biology that included at least 9 semester hours (or 14 quarter hours) in zoology; 6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) in such wildlife courses as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, or wildlife management; 3 semester hours in conservation biology; and 3 semester hours (or 14 quarter hours) in botany.
GS-7 level:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Forexample: experience assisting in the development of procedures and policies to be implemented and conducted in field station operations; experience implementing habitate management programs; experience reviewing management and work plans to ensure management and biological soundness; OR
At least 1 year of graduate level education related to the position to be filled; OR
Qualify under Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) S.A.A. is based on (1) Class Standing, (2) Grade-Point Average, or (3) Honor Society Membership. (1) Class Standing: Upper one-third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses. (2) Grade-Point Average: A grade point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on the official transcript or as computed based on four years of education, or computed based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; -or- (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 0 (B
or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final two years of the curriculum. (3) Election to Membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society: Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Freshman scholastic honor societies cannot be used to meet the requirements of this position; OR
A combination of specialized experience and education equivalent to a full year of specialized experience. Only education beyond the first 60 semester hours towards the bachelor's degree may be combined with experience to meet the basic entry qualification requirement.

The employee selected will be required to work a non-standard tour of duty that may include weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
The employee will be frequently required to travel from assigned duty station to various areas inside and outside jurisdictional boundaries of the Region.
The incumbent may be required to obtain and wear an official U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service uniform.
Incumbent must be able to operate a government-owned or leased motor vehicle. A valid state driver's license is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
